Donkervoort to America

Thursday 7/14/2022

United States

Dutch supercar maker Donkervoort finally arrives in the United States. American supercar enthusiasts have asked and pleaded for years to be able to buy a Donkervoort and now, finally, they can!

Relentless demands from supercar fans convinced Donkervoort to find a way to bring its ultra-lightweight supercars to the US in a precursor to far bigger things to come with future models.

While Donkervoort has a two-year waiting list in Europe, Managing Director Denis Donkervoort set aside production for its entry into the US a year ago, and he has planned far more to come as the brand stretches across the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.

“American supercar enthusiasts can’t wait for Donkervoort cars to arrive, and there is already a surprising amount of interest in the US,” Donkervoort Automobielen Managing Director Denis Donkervoort said.

“Inquiries from the US rank second behind only Europe, despite our supercars never being sold there, so we know enthusiasts in the United States are aware of what Donkervoort delivers.”

“This is pure customer demand, and the people who kept asking us to come to America already know about our extreme customer service, our hand-built craftsmanship and the no-compromises performance of our cars.”

“We are starting small, but Donkervoort has very big plans for the USA and hypercar technology at a supercar price is the perfect recipe for success here.”

A long-held dream of Denis

Expanding Donkervoort sales to America has been a long-held dream of Denis Donkervoort’s, ever since he studied Marketing and Management at Florida’s Northwood University in 2008.

“I always wanted to be able to drive one of our cars in America when I studied here,” Donkervoort remembered.
“And this year, I actually did!”

The first Donkervoort model available in the US will be the D8 GTO Individual Series, priced from US$240,000 (plus options, taxes and fees).

The first Donkervoort will arrive shortly at Naples Motorsports in Naples, Florida. Two other Donkervoorts are being sent to Colorado and California.

With more than 400 horsepower from the 2.5-liter Audi Sport five-cylinder turbo engine, and less than 1500lb to push around, the US Donkervoorts blast to 62mph in just 2.7 seconds – and run from zero to 124mph in only 7.7 seconds.

Passion for the highest ideals

Donkervoort was founded 44 years ago in The Netherlands and is famed in Europe for its “No Compromise” motto, the near-limitless customization and personalization of its cars, and its technological innovation (including its patented Ex-Core carbon-fiber manufacturing process).
