Donkervoort GTO takes first place during TCC Winter Challenge
Thursday 1/29/2015TCC Winter Challenge at Ascari Race Resort
The TCC Winter Challenge is a derivative of the well-known German Touring Car Challenge (TCC) and takes place during the winter months at the (almost) always sunny Ascari Race Resort in southern Spain.
Organised in collaboration with Gedlich Racing, a total of four races can be held, with a starting field consisting of Porsche, McLaren, BMW, Radical and Artega, among others. A unique aspect of this event is the combination with the many hours of free practice (approx. six per day!) and the option of receiving intensive coaching and instruction prior to the races.
Prototype D8 GTO
Donkervoort uses the time on the circuit for, among other things, extensive testing for the further development and improvement of the D8 GTO. This weekend several new developments were tested in the prototype, some of which even during two of the TTC races. The direct achievement of victory during both of these races was therefore not only a pleasing confirmation of the speed of the D8 GTO but also of the performance of these new developments.
Donkervoort Endless Season – Arrive & Drive
For Donkervoort this is the ideal event to take part in during the Donkervoort Endless Season. Thanks to the collaboration, Donkervoort is able to create the perfect Donkervoort weekend for every driver. For example, in addition to participating in the Track Days, all drivers also have the option of taking part in one or more TCC Winter Challenge races during the weekend. Moreover, the beautiful surroundings offer an abundance of possibilities for a relaxing tour. Many Donkervoort drivers therefore use Ascari Drive Resort as a home base for wonderful drives in and around Malaga. Simply put, the familiar Donkervoort Arrive & Drive principle – the combination of touring and racing without the need to ‘adapt’ the car – once again proved its potential during the Endless Season!
